Bishop Texas

bisho park

The town of Bishop, a rural center rich in cotton and grain, was first settled in 1910 but has since  become a center for the petroleum, plastics, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. The Bishop Plant, located on Business Highway 77, houses Celanese (chemicals), Ticona (plastics), BASF  (pharmaceuticals), and OXEA (chemicals).

City Park offers baseball and softball fields, a large covered pavilion, picnic and playground areas,  fitness trail, and birding (site #85 on the Central Texas Coast Birding Trail)…all newly improved thanks to a state grant.
