Outdoor recreational opportunities exist in great number in Victoria. Numerous parks are situated within the city limits, the largest of which is Riverside Park consisting of 562 picturesque acres along the Guadalupe River. Positioned within the park are a 27-hole public golf course, an exercise trail, The Texas Zoo, the duck pond and numerous picnic and playground facilities. Another featured attraction of Riverside Park is the Rose Garden, accredited by the All-American Rose Selections, a national organization that reviews public rose gardens.
Water is King
Victoria is also a water wonderland. Name your water sport—fishing, sailing, swimming, water skiing, or speed boating— several lakes in and around Victoria will cater to your interests. Coleto Creek Reservoir and Saxet Lake are popular “fishing holes” plus offer complete camping conveniences and protected
areas for skiing, sailing and swimming. Annual events such as the Jaycee Livestock Show, Victoria Bach Festival, Czech Heritage Festival, and Noche en Old Victoria all provide color and a sense of tradition.
