Established in 1855 as a Railroad Station, Sinton is a South Texas town and the county seat of San Patricio County with a population of 5,676 and is known as a “City of Parks”. Many enjoy the quaint and unique shops, such as antique stores, the special gift shops, the excellent “home” country cooking restaurants, and taking photos with the largest squirrel in Texas, Agnes, at the famous Aunt Aggie De’s Pralines Candy Store. Many are inspired by the Texas Heritage and American Independence murals at Jackson Square located on the main street (Sinton Street) as well as to observe the flora and fauna of the Butterfly Garden and the Grace Coin Memorial Park. Just minutes from downtown Sinton, you will find the Rob and Bessie Welder Park, a 300 acre park with an 18 hole municipal golf course, a 60 space full hook up RV Park, a Little League Baseball Complex and Soccer Complex, Plaster Hall Lake and fishing pier, bird watching, a covered four (4) basketball court complex, playground equipment and lots of fun for people of all ages.
