“All American Lumberjack Show”

Fulton, Texas (January 12, 2012) – Get ready for chainsaws and more! The All American Lumberjack Show is coming to Fulton, TX on February 1-5, 2012. The event will be held at the Fulton Harbor Park. You may have seen this great family event on TV, but now is your chance to see it live and maybe even participate!

The All American Lumberjack Show began as a family tradition. According to Jamie Fischer, it evolved into a form of competition and entertainment in the early 1950’s. Jamie, followed in the footsteps of his dad and grandfather, and is currently in his 16^th year of the lumberjack show business.

The Show lasts for approximately one hour with professional lumberjacks showing off their skills and competing in several areas such as: Axe-throwing; cross-cut sawing; O.P. Race; Spring Board Tree-Topping; Stock Saw; and Quick Carve. Water Events include the Boom Run and Log Rolling

The pre-show includes a chain saw carving show in which creations such as bears, turtles, and fish will be carved from pieces of wood. There are fun crowd – involving activities such as Sport Camp which offers opportunities for the whole family to show off their Lumberjacking skills. The Log Roll is for kids and amateurs who want to learn this talent. Be sure to bring a towel, you will get wet with this one! You can also learn the skill of Cross Cut, using a manual saw, which was typically used in the 1800’s.

The show will be held from 6pm - 8pm on Wednesday, February 1, Thursday, February 2, and Friday, February 3. On Saturday, February 4, show times are 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm and on Sunday, February, 5 at 2:00pm. Admission is $15 – for adults, $8 for senior adults, $6 for children ages 6-14 and $25 for families. Advance group discounts for groups of 20 or more.
