Remember when Justin Timberlake was at Whataburger Field before the start of 2008 Corpus Christi Hooks’ season?

The movie he was filming, “The Open Road”, will open in select theaters on Friday, Aug. 28.

In the movie, Timberlake portrays Carlton Garrett, a minor league baseball player for the Corpus Christi Hooks and to son of star Major Leaguer Kyle Garrett (played by Jeff Bridges). Opening and closing scenes for the movie were shot in Corpus Christi on March 30.

Anchor Bay Films, which is distributing the movie, said the movie will open in Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis and other selected cities, but not Corpus Christi.  We are trying to get a “special screening” at Whataburger Field, please go to the poll below and cast your vote.  We’re hoping a large response with favorable results will help make Anchor Bay change their minds.  Please vote and pass it along.
