"The Place I Know"
A Texas Main Street community, Sinton is "The Place I Know"
where many stop to enjoy the country charm and the inviting
atmosphere of the downtown shopping district. Be it excellent
dining, antiques or that unique gift, you're sure to find it
here.
Home of world renowned Aunt Aggie De's Pralines and Welder
Wildlife Foundation, Sinton has much to offer. Many stop for
photo opportunities with Agnes, the largest squirrel in Texas or
view Jackson Square with its American Independence and Texas
Heritage murals. Patrons strolling downtown sidewalks to find
that hidden treasure in quaint specialty shops are a common
sight, while others are observing the Sinton Garden Club
Butterfly Garden.
"Thunder in the Park" & More
The Sinton Chamber of Commerce hosts one of the best golf
tournaments in the area on the second Saturday of June. The
annual Thunder in the Park Scholarship Run is free and provides
live entertainment and a variety of vendors all day long. The
City of Sinton hosts an annual Old Fashioned Christmas
Illuminated Night Parade along with the Chamber's Merchant
Christmas Open House and Reindeer Trail. There's also the City
Wide Market where vendors of all kinds join in for a day of
treasures, fun and food.
Rich in history and charm, this friendly South Texas town was
established in 1855 as a station on the San Antonio and Aransas
Pass railroad.

One of a Kind Refuge
Serenity and calm can be found just minutes from downtown Sinton
at the 300- acre Rob & Bessie Welder Park. Blanketed with Grand
Oaks, it is the perfect location for family and company picnics.
Bird watching, nature trails and gold are just a few of the
other activities you will find along with a 56-site full hook up
RV park and a community room. Left in its natural state, Park
Welder is a 7800- acre wildlife sanctuary that is home to
approximately 480 different species of birds, mammals, reptiles
and amphibians. A museum and natural history tours of the refuge
are available. Jackson Square, Grace Coin Park and the Butterfly
Garden are also bird-watcher favorites. A bequeath in the will
of Rob H. Welder, the Welder Wildlife Foundation created the
largest privately endowed wildlife sanctuary in the world.
